It is already possible to play with VR in Read Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is already a lot of fun on its own, but in the PC version we have even more possibilities to experience the game in more creative ways with the help of mods. Developer Luke Ross is one of the most dedicated fans of mods that improve or completely change the way we play Rockstar titles, and this time he has created a modification that allows us to enjoy the western game in VR.

Ross had already done something similar for Grand Theft Auto V last year, so it's not a big surprise that he decided to do the same with Red Dead Redemption 2 this time around. With the mod installed, you can place your virtual reality device to see the world through your character's eyes, but movements are still handled by a normal controller.

As you can see in the video above, which demonstrates the use of the mod, it's not just the gameplay scenes that are displayed this way, as the cutscenes are all in VR as well. It is worth saying that the mod is still in early access, so it is expected to be improved in the coming months until its official release.

It is worth saying that those who want to try out the mod will have to fork over some cash, as it cannot be downloaded for free and is exclusive to Luke Ross' Patreon subscribers. Considering that the young developer is working on these mods full time, this is only fair.

Speaking of which, Ross mentioned in an interview with the website UploadVR that he plans to make VR mods for games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Horizon Zero Dawn in the future, but not until he finishes his project with Red Dead Redemption 2.
